CALL FOR SEMINARS:

The 8th International Conference on Mobile Data Management invites proposals for seminars. The preferred time frame is three hours but 1.5 hour proposals will also be considered.

Seminars should address issues related to the topics of the conference, which include the following:

- Management of mobile objects
- Data management in mobile ad hoc networks
- Data aggregation, management and dissemination in sensor networks
- Location-based services and context-aware computing
- Query processing in mobile and sensor networks
- Mobile contents issues
- Advanced mobile applications
- Power aware mobile systems

See the Call for Papers for a more complete list. Note that topics not mentioned in these lists are fine as long as they appear relevant and interesting to researchers in mobile data management.

Seminar proposals must include the following information:

- title
- abstract
- outline
- description of the target audience
- duration (3 hours or 1.5 hours)
- short biography of the presenter(s)
- contact information for presenter(s)

* address
* phone/fax number
* e-mail address

The presenter's biography must demonstrate that he/she is an expert on the subject of the seminar. If this seminar has been presented before, details on this should be included.

Please submit your proposals by November 5, 2006. Submissions should
be sent via electronic mail to the seminar chair (rhg[at]fernuni-hagen[.]de).

Seminar proposers will be notified regarding the outcome of the selection process by January 23, 2007. For accepted proposals, proposers should be aware that the slides will be made available to the MDM participants, either in hardcopy form or on-line.
